Fishery Cold Chain Integrated Cold Storage Project in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa (Overseas · Africa)
Project Overview
This project is a benchmark overseas project of the company in response to the Belt and Road Initiative, deeply cultivating the East African market. It serves leading local fishery catching and processing enterprises in Tanzania, targeting operational pain points such as rich fishery resources along East African coasts but weak cold chain infrastructure, unstable power grid, high temperature and high salt fog, and customizes full-process fishery cold chain solutions. The total construction period is 120 days, completed and put into operation in June 2024, and passed both local food safety and engineering construction inspections in one go.
Core Technical Parameters
Total Cold Storage Volume: 28600 m³
Panel Selection and Temperature Zone Division (Strictly Matched by Temperature)
| Cold Storage Functional Area | Designed Storage Temperature | Panel Thickness | Single Zone Volume | Core Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Catch Pre-cooling Room | 0℃~4℃ | 10cm | 3200m³ | Quick Pre-cooling and Deacidification of Caught Fish |
| Block Ice Making Workshop | Ambient Temperature ~5℃ | 10cm | 4500m³ | Production Workshop Supporting Direct Cooling Block Ice Machine |
| Low-temperature Freezer & Cold Storage | -25℃ | 15cm | 16800m³ | Frozen Storage of Finished Catch |
| Quick-freezing Tunnel Blast Freezer | -35℃ | 20cm | 4100m³ | Quick-freezing to Lock Freshness of Catch |
Core Equipment Configuration: 3 sets of Bitzer screw-type parallel refrigeration units (with 1 operating and 1 standby redundant design), 2 units of 5 tons/day direct cooling block ice machines, 2 lines of 10 tons/hour quick-freezing tunnels, remote intelligent operation & maintenance monitoring system, and dual power automatic switching supporting system.
Detailed Construction Content
The project covers the full-process construction of six modules: refrigeration room, cold storage main body, ice making workshop, cold chain loading & unloading platform, electrical automation control system, and cooling water circulation system. The cold storage adopts modular container-type design, with core equipment prefabricated in domestic factories, only requiring on-site assembly and connection, which greatly reduces local construction difficulty and installation period in Africa. Aiming at the problem of frequent grid fluctuations, a dual power redundant switching system (diesel generator + municipal grid) is customized, with supporting units featuring wide voltage adaptation design to ensure uninterrupted operation under extreme working conditions.
